How it all began
In 2009, I faced the same problem that many students are familiar with: my university required a specific citation style — and that was nowhere to be found.
So I took a look at the Citation Style Language (CSL) and thought it to myself in order to program my own style. First for myself, then for my fellow students. Then for a journal to which I submitted a paper from my doctoral thesis.
Over the years, this has become a mission: I bridge the gap between the citation guidelines set by universities and journals and what is actually available in Zotero. Today, I am one of the top contributor of the CSL team and have created more than 1,000 styles for free and published them.
