Submission Check (Citations and Bibliography)
Submit your work correctly, without losing marks for formatting errors.
I’ll check your citations and your reference list against your style guide – regardless of which university or programme – and send you a clear list of what you still need to correct – usually within 72 hours. Checked by a human with over ten years’ experience in citation style, not by AI.
Includes:
- Checking footnotes, author-year citations and the bibliography
- A detailed list of corrections, including references and solutions
- Tips on how to correct errors directly in Zotero
49,00 € – 149,00 € (incl. VAT)

Why carry out a submission check?
The citation style takes care of the formatting – but only as well as the data in Zotero allows. Missing short titles, incorrect entry types or a forgotten ‘cf.’ often only come to light during marking. I’ll have a look over it before you hand it in, so that you don’t end up in that situation.
Here’s how it works
- Buy this submission check
- Send the guide and your work as a PDF or Word file – simply reply to the order confirmation. Make sure it’s complete, exactly as you want to submit it.
- You will receive your list of corrections by email – within 72 hours for term papers, Bachelor’s and Master’s theses, and within 5 working days for doctoral theses.
What I’ll be checking
- Format of citations in the text and in the footnotes
- Completeness and formatting of the bibliography
- Consistency between citations and the bibliography
- Common sources of errors in Zotero (record type, short title, prefix/suffix)

What I do not check
The content, language, spelling and layout of your work. This is what a proofreader is responsible for.
Why not just ask an AI?
AI tools spot obvious mistakes, but they overlook details such as punctuation, italics or the correct use of abbreviations – and they tend to make up rules that aren’t even in your style guide. I’ll not only show you, what is wrong, but why Zotero is behaving like that – so that you can sort it out once and for all and get it right everywhere.
Good to know
- It’s best to book 1–2 weeks before the deadline to allow time for corrections.
- There are only a limited number of places available each week – it’s best to book early during the submission periods.
- Your documents will be treated in confidence and deleted once the process is complete.
How much does the check cost?
That depends on the length: term papers of up to 30 pages cost €49; bachelor’s or master’s theses of up to 100 pages cost €89; and doctoral theses of 100 pages or more cost €149.
